The region has been making wine since the 1500’s. Jesuit missionaries planted grapes marking the commencement of wine production in the New World. But it wasn’t until the late 1800’s when plantings of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere gave South America the leg-up it needed to make some exceptional vino.

Jorge Luis Borges was an Argentine short-story writer, essayist, poet and translator, and a key figure in Spanish-language. His literature blends several themes, including dreams, labyrinths, philosophy, libraries, mirrors, fictional writers, and mythology.

Borges' works have contributed to philosophical literature and the fantasy genre, and have been considered by some critics as one the best writers in Literature history.
